Our services to solicitors

CAL UK Ltd offer a complete, efficient and very competitively priced Home Information Pack (HIPs) and/or Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) service to solicitors across Hertfordshire, North London, South Bedfordshire, South Cambridgeshire and West Essex. We already work with over 30 firms of solicitors in this area.

Our HIPs are probably the lowest price you will find. We use our own team of hand-picked Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs) to do the EPC and work with a number of local property search professionals (mainly Property Search Group - PSG - franchisees) who produce the rest of the HIP.

CAL UK Ltd charge as follows;

Freehold or leasehold EPC only (any size property) £117.50 including VAT

* Indicative price. Local authority searchs vary in price depending on the authority

Many HIP providers quote prices excluding VAT so beware when making comparisons!

How does the process work?

The process has been designed to meet the specific needs of solicitors but also keeps the vendor and the estate agent fully informed. It works equally well whether you intend to produce the HIP in-house (ie you just want to order an EPC from us) or if you want us to produce the whole HIP for you. It goes like this. When you take the instruction from the vendors you ask them for the full cost of HIP upfront as a disbursement. Then;

  • you login to the client area of our website and enter the instruction, indicating whether you wish to order the whole HIP or just the EPC
  • you, the agent (if known) and your client (if they have email) will immediately receive email confirmation that a HIP has been ordered
  • we will call the vendors to make an appointment to do the assessment
  • Everyone receives another email confirming the date of the assessment
  • once the EPC is issued everyone receives it immediately by email
If you have ordered the whole HIP;
  • when the HIP is completed everyone receives that immediately by email

We will invoice you at month-end for all the instructions you placed during the month.

  • No call centres! In the rare case of a problem or delay you know exactly who to contact. We are all locally based and will come in to see you if necessary.
